A 1,000 square foot area of basic research and animal cath lab are available, equipped with physiologic data recorders, ultrasonic dimension, gauges, lasers, oscilloscopes, and angioscopy.
Research requirements
Fellows are required to identify a research topic which interests them and to work with a faculty preceptor on one or more research projects. Fellows are responsible for:
- developing the research protocol and methods
- ensure statistical validity of the anticipated sample size
- collect the data
- formulate valid conclusions
Fellows are encouraged to present this research at one of the national scientific sessions. Completion of one project and submission of a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal are requirements for successful completion of the fellowship.
