Corewell Health is the new name for Beaumont.

Orthopaedic Surgery – Foot & Ankle Fellowship, Royal Oak

This is a one-year, preceptor-based fellowship that provides a broad scope of educational opportunities. The fellow is under the direction of 4 fellowship-trained orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery faculty, each with years of experience and specific areas of expertise.

Clinically, the fellow will be exposed to common, uncommon, and complex conditions in a high-volume, private practice setting. One of the distinguishing features of our program’s surgical experience is an invaluable case mix of common foot and ankle procedures as well as extensive exposure to complex ankle arthroplasty, revision ankle arthroplasty, limb deformity and limb salvage procedures. A large number of these cases are performed in an ambulatory surgical setting.

Additionally, our institution has a well-established orthopaedic research program. Dedicated and protected time for clinical, translational, and basic science research is an important part of our fellowship program.

Regarding our fellowship program curriculum, every requisite condition and surgical procedure defined by the AOFAS curriculum guide will be comprehensively and repetitively covered. Structured didactics attended by faculty, residents, and fellows are scheduled weekly and will follow a rotating curriculum guide. Educational activities also involve periodic journal clubs and occasional state and/or regional symposia.
