Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship, Royal Oak

Scope of Service

The sports medicine fellowship program provides a broad exposure to athletic injuries and all related conditions affecting the knee, shoulder and elbow. Included among the most common conditions treated by the faculty are


Shoulder

  • instability (Arthroscopic and open labral repairs, bone block procedures)
  • rotator cuff tears
  • biceps related issues
  • throwing shoulder conditions
  • shoulder replacement surgery
  • Trauma and Fractures of the Proximal Humerus and Shoulder Girdle

Elbow

  • ulnar collateral ligament and throwing injuries
  • biceps repair
  • arthritis
  • instability
  • contracture management

Knee

  • ligamentous injuries (ACL, PCL, PLC, Multi-ligament)
  • articular Cartilage Lesions
  • meniscal tears or deficiency (including meniscal transplantations)
  • arthritis and malalignment
  • patellofemoral realignment
  • sports fractures
