During their time at Corewell Health, William Beaumont University Hospital, the radiology residents will be exposed to various types of call outside of their normal workday duties, including emergency, night float, and weekends. Corewell Health, William Beaumont University Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center with one
of the busiest Emergency Departments in the country, exposing the resident to a high volume of cases with complex pathology.
- ER call responsibility begins near the end of year one
- Residents also undergo night float (9 pm - 7 am) duties within the emergency department with 6 - 7 one-week blocks spread throughout the R2-R4 years
- During ER call, all modalities are experienced
- In the latter part of the R3 year, residents are excluded from all call responsibilities to allow for adequate time to prepare for the upcoming ABR Core examination
