Corewell Health Royal Oak is within minutes of Stoney Creek and Kensington metro parks. We are also within the heart of a sports town which has been spoiled with amazing sports teams for decades. Whether you like basketball, baseball, hockey, football, or college sports, we have it all.

 

Downtown Detroit

Approximately 20 minutes from Corewell Health Royal Oak is the City of Detroit - a city that has recently seen a galvanizing rebirth and influx of new industries, inhabitants, and contagious energy. From art and history to music and food, Detroit is an exceptional destination replete in sightseeing and modern urban living. 

The city offers a huge variety of authentic ethnic neighborhoods that deliver unique foods and culture. The opening of three major sports venues within walking distance from each other: Comerica Park, Ford Field and Little Caesar’s Arena have made the area around Greektown and the Fox Theatre even more popular for visitors.

The home of Motown, Detroit illuminates the scene when it comes to a multitude of musical genres, with artists that play in the aforementioned venues in addition to other music-based venues such as The FillmoreSt. Andrews, and The Majestic, and trendy venues that attract alluring indie artists such as El ClubMarble Bar and Magic Stick. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is one of the most popular and prestigious orchestras in the world. 

The Detroit Institute of Art, located in the city's cultural center, is home to old and new art from around the world. The museum features large touring exhibitions that provide continuously changing variety. The Michigan Opera Theatre has been bringing some of the greatest operas to life for over 35 seasons. Summer is a great time to experience the outdoor Michigan Shakespeare Festival. The festival has been bringing the themes and language of Shakespeare's greatest works to summer audiences since 1995.
