Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital offers a clinical based 4-month internship program for undergraduate and graduate students working towards exercise science/kinesiology
related degrees. The 4 months are broken down into 3 rotations including Phase II and III cardiac rehabilitation and stress testing rotations. Observation of several cardiology related procedures (cath lab, open heart surgery, electrophysiology lab,
etc) is incorporated as well. Additionally, the internship requires several written and oral assignments throughout the program as well as a lecture series designed to prepare interns for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Clinical
Exercise Physiologist (CEP) examination.
This is a hands-on internship program. Each student will begin from their individual “comfort” skill level and work towards becoming competent in all areas. The goal is for interns to be able to function as a staff member, while supervised.
We offer Winter (January-April), Summer (May-August) and Fall (late August-mid December) semesters each year. The schedule consists of 4 days, approximately 8-10 hours per day (variability depending on rotation). Daily start times are 7:00am and end times
between 3:30-5:30pm.
