The PHM fellowship program director has over 18 years of experience in Pediatric Hospital Medicine with a passion for trainee education and multiple years of experience in GME with Associate Program Director role and Chairpersonship of Clinical Competency Committee for Pediatric residency.
Dr. Sahai is passionate about Pediatric Hospital Medicine and chose Pediatrics for the opportunity to work with the entire family, not just a patient’s disease or illness. She shares that her best accomplishment is the good fortune of relationships and connections she has developed with patients and learners through the years. Her research on the QI project of REVISE allowed her to make a large impact by where the hours of hospitalization and testing was reduced markedly for little babies. For the future of Pediatric Medicine, Dr. Sahai supports the development of widely available and easily accessible community and school based mental health programs.
Not only is she a top Pediatric Hospitalist, but she is also a mother of two children. Her commitment to family is the same commitment to her patients and that empathy carries over into her support of her residents and fellows. There is a reason why Pediatric residents have awarded her “Best Teacher” for seven consecutive years.
